// CHALLENGE
Drive buzz and generate viewership for the premiere of the new Hulu series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
// SOLUTION
Allied Experiential created a Wu-Tang-branded ice cream truck which served treats to guests at fairs, festivals and parties around the country. The truck also made stops at select agencies and radio and TV stations.
// EXECUTION
The agency took the Wu-Tang branded ice cream truck to targeted AA events and locations in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Washington D.C. These included the West Adams Block Party, Everyday People, BET, Hot 97, Genius, and more. While at Atlanta’s ONE Music Festival, RZA and ODB’s son stopped by the truck following Wu-Tang’s 25th Anniversary performance. The campaign ended at Howard University during homecoming. In addition to ice cream, attendees received exclusive Wu-Tang swag and built-in monitors played a sneak peek of the show.
// RESULTS
The promotion received more than 2.3B online social media impressions and reached more than 250K consumers at the events. Press coverage included coverage in Bossip, Essence, People, WPIX11, Complex, The Breakfast Club, The Angie Martinez Show, Vibe, The Source, R29 Unbothered, Sirius XM/Fly List, and much more!
