// CHALLENGE
Reimagine the NFL Players Association’s (NFLPA) annual, Pitch Day event as a virtual livestream conference so that presenters and audiences could participate from home. The conference gives women-and minority-led, early-stage companies a chance to present their products and business plans to an elite group of judges, athletes, and potential investors.
// SOLUTION
Allied Experiential developed, designed and produced a branded platform and live two-hour broadcast which aired on the NFLPA’s website.
// EXECUTION
The broadcast showcased six entrepreneurs that each pitched their business plan to a panel of four athlete judges. Former Seattle Seahawk and past Pitch Day winner, Justin Forsett, hosted the show. Magic Johnson introduced the show and led a discussion about how athletes can lead in the business world, and Kathy Ireland hosted a conversation with Shannon Allen, CEO and creator of Grown, a woman-owned company. AEX produced and directed the program and monitored the program’s chatroom and live Q&A throughout the two-hour livestream. The winning company received a grand prize of $25,000 from the NFLPA, $25,000 in services, and free strategic consultation from Allied Sports.
// RESULTS
The livestream was registered and viewed by more than 800 invited guests and VIPs. USA Today Sports and Yahoo! Sports featured stories on the program.
